Long Stratton Health Centre, Norfolk
Refurbished Community Clinic
When the local GP practice moved out to purpose built premises, the existing Health Centre was left with a substantial vacant wing and the PCT was unable to afford the originally planned One Stop Centre. The PCT therefore asked us to look at the existing facility with a view to economically upgrading it in order to provide a new base for the local community teams enabling rationalisation of other sites.
Our appointed architects worked closely with staff to agree a brighter and more useful layout with a minimum of structural changes. Removal of an end wall brought natural light back into the heart of the building, providing a more welcoming area for patients to wait. These works were undertaken on a standard form of building contract, completed on time and within budget. There has been very positive feedback from users.
